Dress Code
Chepstow Bowling Club has a dress code which is rooted in tradition, respectability, and the recognition that is an outdoor sport requiring clothing which is appropriate for the Chepstow weather.
Flat soled shoes which are “green friendly” are required at all times.
Match dress is predominantly white with the 2019 club kit – although Friendly matches frequently dress in grey slacks or skirts.
Shorts can be worn when the weather is appropriate provided they comply with the match dress code.
At other times, members are expected to maintain a respectable form of dress appropriate for a Club environment.
Rink Bookings
Most afternoons and evenings, there are rinks available for practise or roll up play, but on busier occasions it is better to plan ahead and reserve a rink. Rink reservations can be made on the Rink Booking Sheets on the Club Notice Board.
The full fixture diary is visible in the Members section and it is always worth checking for Team match reservations.
Club Kit
the 2019 Club shirts and jackets are available from the Club Treasurer – Dave Bowen
Bowling Equipment
The Club has a small stock of different sized bowls for any member to use and familiarise themselves with the sport prior to investing in their own equipment. One of the coaches will always advise on how to “size” bowls appropriate to the individual member.
There is a regular supply of surplus clothing and equipment available from past and existing members at attractive prices.
Playing equipment (jacks, mats, scoring frames, bowl collectors) are always freely available from the equipment shed.
Maintenance.
We are always looking for volunteers to help with clubhouse or green maintenance. If you are interested in helping, please contact Phil Williams for Clubhouse maintenance and Allan Hossack for Green maintenance.
